1978-1981
Minnesota North Stars
THE STORY
Named for the official moniker of Minnesota (“The North Star State”), the Minnesota North Stars adopted a green-and-gold color scheme. Their logo featured a green “N” with an arrow extending from the tip of the N pointing north towards a gold star. For the 1978-1979 season the North Stars added a white and gold shoulder yoke to their road green uniform along with two large white and gold stripes around the waist and on the sleeves; the design is carried over to the home white uniform minus a gold trim on the shoulders -- this is corrected the following season to create a consistent look across the entire set. The North Stars wore these designs for their run to the Stanley Cup Final in 1981.
